The Workhorse
Gildan: Built for Volume
Gildan is the everyday reliable pick of blank tees — not flashy, but it starts every time and everyone's got parts for it. It's typically 100% cotton or a cotton/poly blend, sits around 5.3–6.0 oz, and comes in more sizes and colors than you'll ever need, from youth XS to 5XL.
Where Gildan wins: price at scale. If you're ordering 100+ shirts for a school event, a race, or a company picnic, Gildan's cost-per-shirt is hard to beat, and it takes screen printing like a champ.
Where it loses: it runs a little boxier than the other two, and the fabric is noticeably rougher out of the bag (it does soften with washing).

The Soft One
Bella+Canvas: Built for Fit
Bella+Canvas is what happens when someone designs a t-shirt like it's actually going to be worn, not just printed on. The fabric — often a cotton/poly/rayon tri-blend — has a noticeably softer hand and a more tailored, retail-style fit that flatters more body types.
Where Bella+Canvas wins: DTG (direct-to-garment) & DTF (direct-to-film) printing. The finer knit holds detailed, full-color designs beautifully, which is why so many boutique apparel brands and Etsy sellers build their whole line on it.
Where it loses: it costs more than Gildan.

The Vintage One
Comfort Colors: Built for Character
Comfort Colors takes the opposite approach — instead of trying to look new, it's garment-dyed after it's sewn, which gives every shirt a slightly irregular, broken-in texture and a heavier, 6.1 oz feel. It's the shirt that already looks like your favorite one.
Where Comfort Colors wins: streetwear, bands, and "vintage" merch drops. The dye process gives every color a muted, sun-faded quality no other brand replicates out of the box.
Where it loses: it's the priciest of the three, colors can vary slightly batch to batch, and it's mostly limited to short-sleeve tees and hoodies — don't expect a huge size or style range.
