Which Type of T-Shirt is Best?

This is probably the most common question we get and also the one with the most possible answers since there are a few different things to consider.

1. What style of t-shirt are you looking for? Do you want a Crewneck, V-Neck, Long Sleeve, Tank, Cropped

2. Do you have a preference on fabric content? The old standard was 100% cotton for highest level of comfort, but nowadays there are different types of 100% cotton. Everything from a basic 100% cotton jersey fabric, to 100% Combed & Ringspun Cotton, as well as 100% Airlume Ringspun Cotton. And beyond that, the most comfortable tees are made with a blend of cotton, polyester & rayon - commonly referred to as "tri-blend" fabric. The other old stand-by fabric is the 50/50 - which is 50% Cotton & 50% Polyester. These hold up great and are good for DIY Heat Transfers (Iron-ons), but not always the most comfortable.

3. Do you want a fabric that is on the heavier end of the spectrum or something lightweight? The convention wisdom in the old days was heavier is always better, but the newer fabrics, like the tri-blends, are significantly lighter weight than the old school heavyweight tees and much more comfortable. These cost a little more, but are worth every penny, since they feel great, don't shrink much and generally have a more modern cut.

4. How will you be using these T-Shirts? This may be the most important question to ask yourself, since there are times that a simple, low-cost basic tee is appropriate. For instance, if you are ordering custom t-shirts for a promotional giveaway, it might make send to save a few bucks. However, if you are buying for everyday wear or a t-shirt for your band, you will want something super-soft and higher quality that people will want to wear.

The bottom line is that with T-Shirts, the old adage of "you get what you pay for" holds true. Sure, you can purchase a basic white tee for under $3.00 and that might be perfect for some, however your skin will thank you every day for buying the $12, super-soft tee. And if you're not sure, what is best for you, we always suggest buying a variety of tees in different fabric types so you can touch and feel them.
